The Ron & Jane Graham School of Professional Development in the College of Engineering offers professional development opportunities in both communication and engineering entrepreneurship. Since 2012, it has provided students with the tools they need to achieve superior performance as professional engineers.

Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship
We offer three specialized certificates in innovation & entrepreneurship that can be earned alongside your engineering degree.
Certificate in Engineering Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Learn the fundamentals of business, develop skills to design innovative solutions, and gain the knowledge needed to bring new technologies to market.
Certificate in Engineering Entrepreneurship - Leading Innovative Teams (CEELIT)
Develop a strategic approach to innovation, learn to evaluate and strengthen an organization’s capacity for growth, and build the skills to lead teams in bringing new ideas to market.
Certificate in Engineering Entrepreneurship - New Product Market (CEENPM)
Develop a customer-focused approach to product development, build skills in market research and product definition, and learn how to turn ideas into successful market-ready offerings.
Professional Communication
We offer three separate, specialized certificates in professional communication. Each requires three classes. (They replace the Certificate in Professional Communication that required six classes.)
Persuasive Communication (CPC-PC)
Learn the theory of persuasive communication, develop written and oral communication skills, and learn to communicate well as a leader and team member.
Leadership and Negotiation (CPC-LN)
Develop your skills in leadership and negotiation, and cultivate sound judgment as a communicator in professional practice.
Technical and Professional Writing (CPC-TPW)
Improve your professional writing skills for both general and scientific audiences.
